Dunkeld Chapter House Museum is divided into two separate parts: a small museum in the Chapter House at the Cathedral tells the story of the Cathedral and the community, while the nearby research centre hosts the museum’s archive. The archive contains material on the community of Dunkeld and district, including its people, buildings and history. It also contains the records of the Scottish Horse (transferred on the closure of the Scottish Horse Museum), a local regiment that fought in South Africa and both World Wars. The archive is staffed by volunteers. We do make a small charge for research done.

At present we are looking for local memorabilia from the First World War and periodically we will put on displays of items with a connection to the area. However, we always welcome donations of items about Dunkeld, Birnam, Amulree, Butterstone, Dalguise, Dowally, Caputh and Murthly.
